Water Conservation Tips
It's easy to take water for granted and everyone's responsibility to conserve and protect our water sources.

-
One inch of rain per week is generally sufficient enough for a lawn. Get a rain gauge and measure rainfall to help.
-
Use mulch around landscape plantings. It helps eliminate weeds and holds moisture in the soil.
-
Select hardy plants that don't need much water.
-
Water during the cool part of the day to avoid evaporation.
-
Raise the mowing height on your lawn mower. This promotes healthier grass that can better survive dry periods.
-
When watering is necessary, water slowly, thoroughly, and let it soak in. Water lawns, not driveways.
-
Wash cars efficiently. Give the car a quick rinse, then turn the water off in between washing and rinsing.
